Orchestra Horo was established 39 years ago at the beginning of 1962. It was founded as a part of dancing group "Naiden Kirov" - Ruse. Orchestra Horo has created more than 300 folk dances and folk songs during that period of time. All of them are now on air, be it on the Bulgarian National Radio or the public radio stations. The Orchestra has toured in France, Japan, Italy, Greece, Sweden, Austria, Spain, Israel and many other countries. It has been chosen for the Orchestra of the year, according to listeners' votes, for two consecutive years in 1993 and 1994. The Orchestra has participated in more than 50 TV shows. It also takes part in the New Year's eve TV shows of the Bulgarian National Television almost every year. Orchestra Horo is a laureate of many world youth folk festivals, such as the one in Sofia in 1968, in Berlin in 1973 and the one in Moscow in 1985. Orchestra Horo won first price in the biggest World Folk Festival "Songs and Dances of the World" in Paris in 1999.
